Location
Marmaris lies in a sheltered, pine-forested bay where the Aegean meets the Mediterranean, in Muğla Province. Netsel Marmaris Marina sits right beside the old town and castle, at the centre of the waterfront.
How to Arrive
- Dalaman Airport (DLM) is about 90 km east, around 1.5 hours by road.
- The marina and old town are walkable; dolmuş minibuses serve İçmeler and the beaches.
The Marina
Netsel Marina is one of Türkiye’s largest and best-known marinas, with full yacht services, a shopping and dining complex, and a prime spot next to the historic quarter — a popular start point for Gulf of Gökova and Datça blue cruises.
Nearby highlights
- Marmaris Castle & old town (Kaleiçi) — narrow lanes, the Ottoman castle and museum.
- İçmeler — a quieter resort bay just west, with a long beach.
- Dalyan & İztuzu (Turtle) Beach — river mud baths, rock tombs and a protected loggerhead-turtle beach (day trip).
- Cleopatra Island (Sedir) — famed for its fine golden sand, reached by boat.
- Datça peninsula & ancient Knidos — wild coves and classical ruins to the west.
Where to eat & drink
The marina and old-town waterfront serve fresh seafood and meze; inland lanes hide good kebab and pide spots. Marmaris is also known for its pine honey. Evenings bring the famous Bar Street for nightlife, plus quieter rooftop and harbour bars.
