Privacy policy
Last updated 7 November 2026.
PortsPedia is a free, static information site. We keep this simple: we don't ask you to sign up, we don't run ads, and we don't collect or sell personal information.
What we collect
- No accounts. There is no login, and we don't ask for your name, email or payment details.
- No personal tracking. We don't build profiles or sell data. If we ever add privacy-respecting, aggregate analytics (visit counts, popular pages), we'll update this page first.
- Your browser's local storage may hold small conveniences (like a remembered search), which stay on your device and are never sent to us.
Third-party services a page may contact
Some pages load content from other providers. When they do, that provider's server receives your IP address and standard request information, under their own privacy policies:
- Google Fonts — serves the site's typefaces.
- Wikimedia — port photos are loaded from Wikimedia Commons.
- OpenStreetMap — map tiles on the world map page.
- MarineTraffic — only if you click a "live" ship-tracking link.
Where our information comes from
Port facts and photos are drawn from open data — Wikidata (CC0), Wikipedia (CC BY-SA) and the World Bank (CC BY 4.0). Travel details change — always confirm with official port and operator sources before you travel.
