Location
Fethiye sits on a large, island-dotted natural harbour on the Lycian coast of Muğla Province — ancient Telmessos. It has two marinas (Ece Marina and Fethiye Marina) right by the town centre and is a classic base for the “Blue Cruise” by gulet.
How to Arrive
- Dalaman Airport (DLM) is about 50 km away, roughly 50 minutes by road.
- The marinas, harbour and old quarter (Paspatur) are walkable; dolmuş serve Ölüdeniz and Çalış.
The Marinas
Ece Marina and the municipal Fethiye Marina offer full yacht services right in town, steps from restaurants and the fish market. The harbour is the departure point for multi-day gulet cruises along the Lycian coast.
Nearby highlights
- Ölüdeniz — the iconic Blue Lagoon and Belcekız beach, one of Türkiye’s most photographed spots.
- Babadağ paragliding — tandem flights down to Ölüdeniz from ~1,900 m.
- Lycian rock tombs — the Tomb of Amyntas carved into the cliff above town.
- Butterfly Valley — a steep-sided cove reached by boat.
- Saklıkent Gorge and the ghost town of Kayaköy — great half-day trips.
Where to eat & drink
The fish market is a local institution: buy your fish from a stall and have a surrounding restaurant cook it. The Paspatur bazaar and harbour serve meze, grills and gözleme. Çalış beach is the spot for a sunset drink.
